Life is such a learning curve…
I was reading soccernet today and I learnt something new from the UEFA cup. That qualifying for the next round due to one of clubs defaulting the right to play is known as a "bye".
A bye…that sounds so…vulgar…
Anyway, this came from Spurs qualifying for the next round. Excerpt from article below.
Spurs handed bye into next round of UEFA Cup
Tottenham have been given a bye into the last 16 of the UEFA Cup, subject to a possible appeal by Feyenoord to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The Dutch club were kicked out of the tournament following crowd trouble earlier in the season against French side Nancy.
